On Saturday, September 14, 2002, one year after the tragic events of September 11, we filled New York Harbor with sails. 
 The goal was simple – to have the greatest gathering of sailboats ever in the history of the harbor.
This will be three things.
- It was a memorial to the people who died.
 - It was a symbolic rebirth for the City of New York.
 - 
It is a tribute to the soaring spirit of America - out of great tragedy and destruction, we Americans create a symbol of hope and beauty.
